Schedule Optimization of Ro-Ro Passenger Ship Design Based on Concurrent Engineering

Abstract: The traditional serial design mode based on two-dimensional drawings has many defects in the design of ro-ro passenger ships, which cannot meet the development needs of ro-ro passenger ships. In view of the problems in the traditional design process of the ro-ro passenger ship, the design schedule of the ro-ro passenger ship is optimized by applying concurrent engineering theory with the support of the model based definition(MBD) technology. The preliminary design, detailed design and production design are coordinated through the concurrent design of the 3D integrated structural design and the advance outfitting design. The design structure matrix is used as a basic calculation tool to compare the changes in the design period of the ro-ro passenger ship before and after optimization based on the design of a ro-ro passenger ship, in order to verify the feasibility and validity of the theory. The results show that the application of the concurrent engineering can effectively reduce the design workload of the ro-ro passenger, and solve the incoordination between the professional structural design and outfitting design, as well as shorten the design duration of the ro-ro passenger ship, with a schedule optimization rate of 25.7%.

摘要: 传统以二维图纸为主的串行设计模式在客滚船的设计中存在诸多缺陷,已无法适应目前客滚船的技术发展需求。该文分析传统客滚船设计流程,针对其存在的问题,以基于模型定义技术为支撑,应用并行工程理论对客滚船设计周期进行优化。通过结构专业3D一体化设计与舾装专业提前设计的并行设计模式,实现初步设计、详细设计以及生产设计协同进行。文中以设计结构矩阵为基本的计算工具,通过某客滚船的实际设计,对比优化前后客滚船设计工期的变化,验证理论的可行性及有效性。结果表明:应用并行工程后,能够有效降低客滚船设计工作量,解决结构与舾装专业设计不协调问题,缩短客滚船设计工期,工期优化率达25.7%。
