The types and the application of the pressure relief valves are introduced in detail according to the current situation that the calculation and selection of the pressure relief valves in the piping system of the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel depend on the valve manufacturer. The calculation and selection of the pressure relief valves in the piping system of the SBM FPSO vessel are carried out by using the API calculation method. The calculation method optimizes the overpressure mode and the selection of the valve flow area, ensuring the correct selection of the pressure relief valve and the safety of the piping system of FPSO vessel.

Solutions for Ballast Water Treatment System of Large Semi-submersible Vessels
CHEN Lei, HU Xiao-lin, YU Zai-hong, ZOU Xiong
Ship & Boat    2019, 30 (04): 7-14.   DOI: 10.19423/j.cnki.31-1561/u.2019.04.007
Abstract148)            Save
With the entry into force of the Ballast Water Management (BWM) Convention, the demand for the ballast management system of large semi-submersible vessels becomes increasingly urgent. It introduces the characteristics of the ballast water system for the large semi-submersible vessels, and the difficulties and solutions for the ballast water treatment for large semi-submersible vessels. By comparing the ballast treatment system for the typical large semi-submersible vessels, it is concluded that the circulation method and the gravity method are reasonable and feasible solutions for the ballast water treatment system of the large semi-submersible vessels. It can provide reference for the ballast water treatment system of the large semi-submersible vessels.
