Whether in times of war or peace, cross domain maritime transport activities are important actions related to national interests, and the ship formation configuration is a key issue that needs to be paid close attention to during the cross domain operations. A quantitative analysis method is used to model the interception of sea targets by the convoy vessel. The formation size and position of convoy vessels are analyzed when two ships are accompanied. The formation configuration conditions for the convoy vessel and carrier formations are obtained while ensuring interception of targets. Based on actual situations, key issues that need to be paid attention to in the formation configuration of cross domain carrier formations at sea are proposed. The conclusion not only provides qualitative but also focuses on quantitative decision-making support for the command of cross domain maritime transport operations.
