The function and application of the steering control system on the podded propulsor are discussed and analyzed based on the electric propulsion system of “Xiangyanghong 01” oceanographic multidisciplinary research vessel. It introduces the configuration of the pod steering system, analyzes the control characteristics of the steering power unit, and studies the function and application of the steering driving frequency converter. It can provide reference and guidance for the management and maintenance of the new generation of scientific research vessels.
