Based on the application of CATIA experience platform in the ship detail design, this article discusses and studies the CATIA Logical to Physical (L2P) modeling and the rapid modeling by using the piping specification. It analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of CATIA L2P modeling in comparison with the traditional modeling method. The application of CATIA 3D experience platform should be promoted in the detail design of the marine engine for the implementation of the design optimization.
