To effectively monitor the total longitudinal bending moment of icebreakers, an improved shape function method and a measurement point layout strategy were introduced to enhance the accuracy of hull bending moment identification. First, through numerical analysis, hull section of an icebreaker was taken as the research object, and the solution strategy applicable to the shape function method and its regularization parameter selection strategy were investigated. Subsequently, to address the complex stress distribution of icebreakers, a measurement point layout strategy was proposed and validated. The results show that both the L-curve criterion and the hard threshold selection strategy can improve the accuracy of the improved shape function method. The proposed measurement point layout strategy can effectively improve the stability of bending moment identification. The bending moment identification scheme established in this study provides an improved approach for bending moment identification of icebreakers.

The structural design of medium cruise ships should meet the requirements of aesthetics, layout, function and structural safety. Therefore, a large number of the different types of the special-shaped structures are widely used in the medium cruise ship. It compares the typical special-shaped structure of the medium cruise ship with the structure of the traditional ship based on the definition of the special-shaped structure, and sorts out and classifies the special-shaped structures in the different regions of the medium cruise ship. It focuses on the structural characteristics of the special-shaped structure, such as the typical opening structure, the high web with opening, the glass curtain wall and the dome in medium cruise ships. The obtained typical special-shaped structure characteristics of the medium cruise ship can provide reference for the structural design and the safety evaluation of the medium cruise ships.
