The equipment on weather deck of polar ships, especially high polar-ice-class icebreakers, should withstand extremely low design service temperatures. The steering gear and bow thrusters should also consider the additional requirements for ice loading. The input requirements for the equipment design are analyzed from the rules of main outfitting equipment such as the lifesaving equipment, deck machinery and manoeuvring devices. The equipment configuration and location of the high polar-ice-class ships that were delivered at home and abroad are analyzed to provide references for the localization of main outfitting equipment in the future.

Software Development for Quick Analysis of Wharf Mooring System
SHI Yongpeng, YAN Fengchao
Ship & Boat    2022, 33 (06): 87-95.   DOI: 10.19423/j.cnki.31-1561/u.2022.06.087

Analysis of mooring using software is the important basis for mooring design and the important way for mooring safety assessment. A mathematical model of the wharf mooring analysis is established with rational simplification according to the development target by analyzing the environmental factors, ship factors and wharf factors in the wharf mooring system. On this basis, a set of simple, fast and accurate tools for the analysis of the wharf mooring is completed based on the user interface developed together with the CAD platform. The software can be applied to more users and scenarios, including assistance in the iterative optimization of the design, or the real-time mooring assessment of full-scale ships, improving the continuity of the mooring design and the reliability of the results. It can also be embedded as a subsystem into the ship design software platform.
