The overall structural strength analysis of the luxury cruises is necessary for the structural design of the luxury cruises. The processes of the finite element analysis of the luxury cruises are introduced based on the specifications of the Lloyd’s Register (LR), including the boundary conditions, design loads, working conditions and strength criteria. The overall structural strength of the 140 000 gross tonnage luxury cruise is calculated by using the finite element method. The characteristics of the stress distribution and the availability of the major longitudinal continuous structures are also analyzed. The results show that the overall longitudinal normal stress and the shear stress of the cruise are mainly transmitted by the deck structure and the continuous longitudinal bulkhead, respectively. The conclusions can provide reference for the structure design of the luxury cruises.
