On New Method of Anti-Sloshing Using Corrugated Bulkhead

The study of new methods of sloshing control is one of the key issues in the development of large liquid cargo ships. The sloshing of the vertical corrugated bulkhead in low liquid depth under resonance has been numerically simulated based on commercial code FLUENT to study the effect of the corrugated parameters on the sloshing behavior. The anti-sloshing mechanism of the vertical corrugated bulkhead is explored by analyzing the pressure at key locations and the evolution of the free-surface wave height. The results of the corrugated bulkhead are compared with those of the vertical flat bulkhead. It shows that the anti-sloshing effect of the vertical corrugated plate is better than that of the vertical flat plate.
