The method and characteristics of the design of the ductless induction ventilation system in narrow and tall space of surface ships are analyzed in this article. The numerical simulation method has been introduced to study the influence of the air flow rate, jet angle, longitudinal spacing and transverse spacing of the induction fan and different combinations of induction fans on the air distribution in the narrow and tall space. The recommended combination of the design parameters are given for the induction fans in the specific installation height range. A new piston flow mode is developed by the induction ventilation, which can relatively increase the air age, improve the ventilation effect and help to reduce the pollutant stagnation area and the ventilation dead angle. Solutions and suggestions are proposed to solve the problems of the traditional ventilation system in the narrow and tall space of the surface ships, such as the ventilation dead angle that is easily produced in the ventilation system and the air pollution in the space that cannot be discharged in time.
