Abstract: The fireproof design for ships has become the focus of ship design with the increasing concern of the life safety at sea. This article briefly introduces the issues that should be paid attention to through the design of fireproof compartment on the 600-person accommodation barge with class three dynamic positioning system (DP3) according to the Code of Safety for Special Purpose Ships (SPS Code). It also presents the impact on the fireproof compartment design when the additional mark of DP-3 is demanded, which can provide reference for the design of the similar projects.
