Abstract: It becomes a very urgent problem to ensure the safe operation of the oceanographic scientific research vessel and thus the improvement of the Chinese oceanographic research industry as more and more oceanographic scientific research vessels join the Chinese oceanographic research industry. The Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory for Dayang Hao is proposed and put into the practice based on the problems faced by the safe operation and market competition of the oceanographic scientific research vessel Dayang Hao, combing with the Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory and the construction of the ship safety management system. It can provide reference for the safe operation of other oceanographic scientific research vessels and the improvement of the core competitiveness for the oceanographic survey.
