A set of shipboard helicopter integrated logistic support helicopter integrated logistic support(ILS) methods adapting to extreme environmental conditions, such as polar low temperature and icing, is proposed in order to meet the increasing requirements of ILS for helicopters on polar ships in China. The current common polar rules, standards and ship configuration are studied to identify their incompatibility with extreme polar environments. Targeted improvement plans are then proposed based on relevant domestic and international systems. These improved helicopter ILS methods for polar ships can be selectively applied to the design and construction of new generation polar ships.

The components of the multi-point mooring system are analyzed and selected according to the characteristics of the ship type and the operation sea area, in order to meet the design requirement of refitting a LNG carrier to a FSRU and to ensure the safety of the follow-up operation of the FSRU. A time-domain coupling analysis is carried out for the refitted mooring system under the environments of wind, wave and current by using the mooring calculation software, resulting in the maximum force and maximum displacement of the mooring line and anchor under the various operation conditions. The results show that the refitted mooring line and anchor can meet the engineering requirement, and the hull can meet the strength requirement due to the better controlled hull displacement. The relevant conclusions can also provide references for the design of other similar projects.

Anchor system design will directly affect the navigation safety of ships. The high holding power (HHP) anchor is optimal choice because of its small weight and large grasping force. The characteristics of the different types of HHP anchors are compared. The anchor system design of the different types of HHP anchors is then analyzed for a bulk carrier. The design is finally verified by anchor pulling simulation. It can provide reference for the anchor system design of other large ships.

The length of the pilot ladder for the embarkation and disembarkation of pilots is analyzed mathematically analyzed according to the requirements of latest international code of the pilot transfer arrangement. The layout of the current conventional pilot transfer arrangement is analyzed from the aspects of the usage and storage based on the ship type characteristics of the feeder container ship. The new proposed design optimization scheme can provide reference for the design of other ships.

In the design of the ocean survey ships and working ships, the improvement of the deck utilization and the optimization of the arrangement of the working deck are the development trends of the design of such ships. The removable bollard has increased flexibility of the deck utilization by comparison with the welded fixed bollard. It is easy for the users to make full and reasonable use of the stern deck according to the task requirements. The bolted connection node of the removable bollard for full-scale ships are designed and analyzed by comparison with the finite element simulation results. It can provide reference for the application of the removable bollards.
