GONG Xu-cheng, YANG Zhen-feng, YU Yun
Ship & Boat    2021, 32 (01): 49-56.   DOI: 10.19423/j.cnki.31-1561/u.2021.01.049

Hoistable deck, as a particular equipment for Ro-Ro ships, is suitable for Ro-Ro ships that need to switch loading conditions between cars and trucks. The ships equipped with the hoistable decks can easily switch the situation of the loading deck according to the loading requirement to improve the efficiency of transportation. However, the fixed connection between the traditional pressure mist pipeline and the fire main pipe that is set at the bottom of the hoistable deck will obstruct the lifting of the deck. Some pipelines need to be removed and reconnected after the adjustment of the deck position, which is extremely disadvantageous in terms of safety and convenience. The tightness of the pipeline cannot be guaranteed after each disassembly and assembly, as well as a large number of pipelines demands to be disassembled and assembled whenever the hoistable deck is altered. A side pressure water mist spray system is proposed to solve the fire protection problem of the pressure water mist system on the hoistable decks.

On Design of Valve Remote Control System Under Safe Return to Port Requirements
YANG Zhen-feng
Ship & Boat    2020, 31 (01): 122-132.   DOI: 10.19423/j.cnki.31-1561/u.2020.01.122
Abstract157)            Save
In addition to meeting the requirements of passenger ships, the design of the valve remote control system for passenger ships should further consider the availability after an accident based on Safe Return to Port (SRtP) regulations. The SRtP regulations refer to a series of important systems, such as ballast system, bilge water system and fire fighting system, all of which need to consider the availability after an incident of fire or flooding. The relevant requirements of the SRtP regulations are analyzed to set boundary conditions for the design of the valve remote control system, in order to meet the design requirements of the SRtP regulations.

Hydrodynamic Calculation and Analysis of Vessels in Restricted Waters and Application of Numerical Damping of Free Surface
WANG Wei-fei, PENG Ya-kang, PU Jun, Zhao Xiao-bin, YANG Zhen-feng
Ship & Boat    2019, 30 (06): 116-122.   DOI: 10.19423/j.cnki.31-1561/u.2019.06.116
Abstract121)            Save
The influence of the side wall effect on the ship motion should be taken into account to predict the motion of the ship in the restricted waters, such as a narrow channel or a canal. The side wall effect has been considered by introducing the green function of channel free surface. The green function of the side wall with free surface is then approached by Chebyshev polynomial to perform the efficient and high accurate calculations. The results calculated in the current study are compared with which is calculated by the commercial software. The artificial numerical damping is adopted for the free surface in order to address the numerical resonance phenomenon of the free surface during the numerical calculation, ensuring that the motion of the floating body and the calculated elevation of the free surface are more accordant with the actual conditions.
