The reasons that cause the fault of the continuous air intake into the fuel oil system of the oil supply unit on a ship have been analyzed in the current research. It is found out that the back-flushing filter could not be rotated continually backwashing, resulted in the fault caused by the compressed air entering the fuel oil system. According to the failure causes, the fault prevention and management suggestions are presented to provide reference for marine engineers.
